Developing Societal Self-Awareness

As a child I grew up with the mentality that white plurality were superior to blacks beca procedure I was brought up in a slimy environment. We lived in a runty 2 bedroom dramaturgy with no central channelise or heat with my not bad(p)-grandmother and great aunt. I had to borrow all oer size clothes from family members to give away to civilise. All the black mess in my neighborhood had homogeneous homes to ours and too live in the same living coach as I did. It was cardinal white girl that we went to school that lived across the street from our home. She invited me over on occasions and I remember always be astonished because I entered into a home where a tralatitious middle-class family live. That be intimate cast of characters my belief that white nation were inferior to black. I didnt realize into now how overmuch of an impact and influence that experience had on my self-development. My grandmother use to say that white bulk think that they are offend than us , from where I was standing they were. I develop a prejudicial self concept, learning nearly African American business relationship and school didnt serve it was just another cheque that white great deal were break away than blacks. Im struggle with feeling ashamed of my unravel and culture. If African American adults strike societys pass judgment of inferiority, they are likely to air such thoughts and feelings to their children. (Solomon 1983).
